The escarpment road you will travel along to the valley was constructed by Italian prisoners during World War II. Along the journey, watch for herds of giraffe and gazelle and the famous Maasai herdsmen, adorned in red.

Mid-morning, we will head to Narok, a town in the Maasai heartland whose surrounding areas are famous for cattle herding and grain farming.

Upon arrival at Maasai Mara, you’ll have lunch followed by an exciting afternoon game drive.

You will enjoy a delicious dinner and an all-inclusive overnight stay at the sumptuous park lodge.

Day 2: Maasai Mara

You’ll have breakfast in the beautiful lodge and then depart for morning and afternoon game drives in the park.

If you choose, you can skip one game drive and take an alternative safari by hot air balloon! (not included in total cost). If you decide on this option, the package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild and viewing African wildlife afloat a balloon will certainly be an unforgettable experience!

You’ll have dinner and enjoy another comfortable nights sleep in the lodge.

Day 3: To Western Kenya

After breakfast you will depart westwards to the banana-land of Kisii (inhabited by the industrious Abagusii community). During the rainy season, we will follow an alternate route passing through the tea capital of Kericho with its beautiful green-tea shrubs. We will reach our final destination at the gorgeous lakeside city of Kisumu on the shores of Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake in the world.

Overnight accommodations will be at an opulent Kisumu hotel overlooking the stunning lake. Fish is one of main joys of this lovely city, make sure that you remember this when ordering your dinner!

Day 4: Kakamega Forest Sanctuary

After breakfast, we will drive north towards the town of Kakamega. You will have a picnic lunch in the forest so you can enjoy all of its wonders. It is famous for several varieties of butterflies, hundreds of bird species, Columbus monkeys, and the black –faced vevet monkeys.

The day’s excitement will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at the well-appointed Kakamega Golf Hotel.

Day 5: Lake Baringo

Today will begin with breakfast and then we will travel through the Kakamega indigenous forest.

Lunch will be at the town of Eldoret (based on an Maasai word meaning "stony river" because of the bed of the nearby Sosiani river). Later you will drive north toward Lake Baringo, driving across the spectacular Great Rift valley along the way.

You will finish the evening with dinner and lodging at the luxurious Lake Baringo Country Club.

Day 6: Lake Bogoria/Baringo

The day will start with breakfast and then we will drive to Lake Baringo, which is known for its flock of flamingoes and hot water springs.

We will return to the country club for lunch and here you will spend a leisurely afternoon – this will give you a chance to rest for your departure. Your last night in Lake Baringo will end with dinner and another night spent in lavish accommodations.

Day 7: Drive back to Nairobi and Departure

Our journey back to Nairobi will take us on a panoramic drive across the top of the Rift Valley and the Equator crossing point.

Here, we will enter the flamingo city of Nakuru and drive through the park before settling for lunch. The journey will then continue to the great escarpment with views of Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha (the only fresh water lake in the Rift Valley), with its Crescent island and the Great Rift Valley – which has views of Mt. Longonot, a dormant volcano – the views will be spectacular.

From here, it is a short trip back to Nairobi where you’ll have dinner and  one last night’s stay in Africa before your departure the next day.
